After a dry summer of temperatures lingering into the 90s, expect to see some cooler, wetter weather this weekend.
Ogden residents will begin to see high temperatures dip into the 70s on Thursday, with overnight lows hovering in the 50s, according to the NWS forecast. On Friday, the forecast calls for a high of 64 and a low of 45 degrees.
Showers and scattered thunderstorms are also expected throughout the end of the week.
“Widespread precipitation is expected across the north/west, coupled with temperatures some 10 to 15 degrees below average,” the NWS said.
In the mountains, there’s a chance for light snow accumulations for elevations over 8,000 to 9,000 feet. Hunters, hikers and those with other outdoors plans should prepare accordingly, the NWS advises.
Temperatures are expected to return to the 70s on Sunday.
